Final Freebie March Collab Parts & SPRING IS HERE!

Today is the first day of spring, or Ostara!  Today has special significance for me.  When I was pregnant with my third child, I had a lot of problems.  I had pretty much put it in my higher power’s hands.  I went in to hospital with snow on the ground and it was grey and ugly outside.  On the day we were to come home, the snow had all but melted and there were little sprouts of flowers poking their heads up from the earth.  In my eyes, they awoke to come see my miracle baby!  Sarah was actually born on the 22nd, but, it was still such a meaningful time for me.  I changed a lot during this time. To this day, my Sarah is still a bright and sunny child of the earth – my earth.  LOL

I made this for the neat poem:

Around two years ago, I expressed my desire to get a tablet, like a Wacom.  I thought it would give me much more control over the details in Photoshop projects.  A friend actually got me one for Christmas that year, not a Wacom, but, one I could certainly use.  Imagine my surprise, then, when I sat down to ‘draw’ something.  Tablets don’t work like that!  LOL  I’ve read tuts, asked questions and pulled a lot of hair, to no avail.  You have to use different keys, along with the pen tool, to get the right results.  Even at Digital Whisper we have worked on this a little.  I put the tablet away and haven’t thought much about it since.  Yesterday, I had an occasion to draw out a curvy line.  Following a tut for a challenge we were doing, I used the pen tool and I DID IT!  I was able to make a somewhat curvy line, then, with the ‘alt’ key, make adjustments and it came out a nice smooth, graceful curve-line.  A tablet works with the pen too, from what I gather.  So, all I need to do is the same thing, only with my tablet’s pen.  I plan to practice, practice, practice.  If anyone knows of any good tablet tuts, do tell.  I would so appreciate it.
Well, I know you are waiting for the final parts of “Cat in a Basket”.  I always threaten(lol) to come back and post after I put my kit parts up and I never make it.  But, I have been poking around the ‘net and have some sites of interest for you.
This is the third, and final, parts to our collaboration with Miss Edna’s Place.  There are two(2) parts with the download links below the preview.  Following that is Miss Edna’s preview, which is linked to her blog, so, you can go get her parts, too, if you haven’t already.

  2. First off, thank you and Edna for Cat in a Basket! I’m hoping to get some time to scrap some kitty-pics this afternoon.I love the story about the miracle of spring greeting your daughter into this world. What a wonderful feeling that must have been to bring her home as spring was really being born!
