Freebie Collab “April Showers” Final Parts

Greetings, folks!  I’m settling in, somewhat, to this blog.  There is so much I don’t know how to do!  I cannot figure out how to add an RSS feed, but, you can subscribe to my posts through the sidebar gadget that is titled, ‘Follow Blog via Email’.  Eventually, I should ‘get it’!  LOL

I hope everyone had a nice weekend, honoring our dear mother earth.  I had received an e-mail for a regular post series that I receive from StockVaultBlog.  Caleb Kimbrough posts a set of free textures there on Fridays.  When I went to download them, I noticed they were images of ‘Urban Grunge’.  They look to be worn cement floors or some concrete surface that has been exposed to a lot of harsh treatment.  It hit me that this was, in it’s own way, ‘recycling’.  Caleb shoots the photo of some derelict construct, processes it and posts it online for folks to use as textures in their designs.  How much more recycled can ya get?  LOL  If you want to check out the  Friday posts of Caleb’s textures, visit there and sign up for the notifications if you like.  These textures are different from those on his site, ‘Lost and Taken’.  I’ve been able to add some very nice textures to my resources from there.  So, you, go, Caleb!

I return to the doctor today.  Ugh!  I am so not looking forward to it!  So, as nervous as I am, I am going to stop here and give you the last two parts of “April Showers”.  Click on each of the previews below to go to Minus.com to download two parts, Pt 5 and Pt 6.  Then, click on Miss Edna’s preview to go to her blog for her two parts.  I do hope you enjoy!

Before I forget, make sure you collect the ‘Collage Sheets’ that go with this kit.  They were offered on suruha-freespirit as my final post.  I posted that link here, but, just in case you missed it, go HERE and snag ’em!  Or, click on this preview:

Miss Edna’s Place

That is gonna do it for today.

I appreciate each person who visits this blog.  It doesn’t matter if you do not comment, though, I do so love to read them!  I just don’t worry about it.  I understand it is time-consuming if you are on a tight schedule.  Thank you, anyway!

Until next time…

Smiling, yet?

A Freebie and a Fare Thee Well, Blogger!

I am kind of sad to leave this blog.  It is where I got into the swing of the digi-scrapping community.  Posting freebies and linking to other’s blogs is like having a little town store.  You put your wares out there for whoever may stop by.  I didn’t do any advertising other than hooking up with a couple of the scrapping search engines site, like CBH(CreativeBusyHands), for one.  Still, I had a fair amount of traffic.
As far as Word Press goes, it’s like walking into factory when I have been used to the showroom.  LOL  WP is a blog that requires some web know-how.  I always wanted to learn it.  I actually started out blogging at my WP blog, with intentions of learning web design.  Discovering I had Photoshop on my pc, which a friend had left with me,  I figured I could use it for design.  Boy did I!  LOL  I veered way away from web design and into digi-scrappin’ design.  I was able to learn Photoshop all the while.  There are so many opportunities to learn that program within the community alone!  Now, I guess, I am back to learning web design after all.
I know mine is just one little blog in a sea of great blogs, but, it was where I spent my time, reaching out to others with a freebie, a link to some awesome web site or a little tutorial to show something I learned, or my stand on some issue.  It is where I could be Susan and not worry about it.  My ‘free spirit’ could flow.  But, when I spent all morning and part of the afternoon typing out a post that reflected some personal feelings, as well as, images and links to convey my message, plus a freebie to boot, it is time for action.  My time is more valuable than that.  So, it’s Farewell, Blogger!
Just to say how utterly grateful I am to have such awesome readers, I am going to give you all one last freebie from this blog.  These are actually the smaller elements from this month’s collaboration with Miss Edna, ‘April Showers’.  Earlier today, I posted Parts 3 and 4 over at the WP blog,
http://aladyinflorida.wordpress.com/
The remaining parts will also post there and from now on.  But, I wanted to post one last time here, to make sure everyone knew I was leaving.  It seems the right thing to do to give away a part of the freebie here.  I have three(3) collage sheets of the elements for you.
Here is a brief preview:

Butterfly Sheethttp://min.us/mDX7O9Cuf
Don’t forget to go over to my new blog and fill in your e-mail addy in the ‘Follow Blog By E-mail’ section of the right-side bar.  I usually only post about once a week, so, you won’t get barraged, but, you’ll know when I do post.
Thank you!
See ya at the new place!

New Blog, New Freebies – Pts 3 and 4 “April Showers”

Greetings from my new blog at Word Press!  The domain name of it is ‘A Lady in Florida’, as you may have noticed.  I hope this doesn’t confuse too much.  It has the by-line, ‘A Freespirit Weblog’, so, the name on my freebies, ‘Freespirit’, will stay the same.

This is my first real post since I made the move.  If you didn’t see my last post on Blogger, I got so fed up with that site, I came back here!  This was my first ever blog!  I had just this one for a short time.  My intentions were to learn CSS, or at least WP design.  But, Photoshop entered my life and I never looked back!  LOL  I have spent the past few years learning PS.  It wasn’t until after I got on Blogger that I began meeting people and when I became a member of the digital scrapbooking community.  Everyone is accustomed to reading my posts in Blogger, so, it may take a little getting used to.  But, and this is a promise, nothing will change as far as posting goes.

I will still post the monthly freebie from Miss Edna and I.  If you are new to my blog posts, Miss Edna, from ‘Miss Edna’s Place’, and I collaborate together each month on a digi-scrap kit to give away as a freebie to our readers.  We release two parts each per week, for three weeks of each month.  We don’t post on the first Monday of the month, but, rather, the second. third and fourth Mondays of the month.  Two parts per week, each, would be four parts.  Then, we do that for three weeks.  So, twelve!  By month’s end, you will have twelve(12) new parts to our kit.

The links for the older things I made and posted when I was on Blogger are all still active. You can either visit Suruha-Freespirit, or, go to my ‘Freebies Previews and Links’ page, listed above in the menu bar.  On that page, there are recent freebies previews with the links to the post they are in at Suruha-Freespirit.

Enough of this chit-chat!  You kind folks have had to read all kinds of notices and find your way around my move.  I’m sure you are ready to be done!  This month’s freebie collaboration, ‘April Showers’, Parts 3 and 4, with Miss Edna’s Place are here!  Below are the previews for “April Showers”.

 Part 3 – http://min.us/mE5HpyH9e

and

Part 4 – http://min.us/mbm2CGjpzk

Though the previews are separated by papers and elements, each ‘Part’ will have a mixture of papers and elements.  These previews are just so you can see what is in the kit better – hopefully.  Also, Parts 1 and 2 come to you as Quick Pages (QP’s).  Then, subsequent weeks will bring the papers and elements so you can create your own scrapbooking pages/designs.

I made too much for this kit, as usual.  So, I put some of the goodies on ‘collage sheets’, 3600pxs x 3600pxs(12″ x 12′) at 300 dpi, and will give you those links separate from the kit links.  There are three of them, so, watch for them.

Below is Miss Edna’s link.  If I am able I will post her preview.  I had to type this up on Friday and set it for scheduled posting on Monday.  I am having some major upgrade work done on Monday and I didn’t want it to interfere with my Monday post.  As of this typing, I do not have Miss Edna’s preview.   If I get it before the work, I will sure add it below.  If not though, click on her blog name, below, to go to her blog, Miss Edna’s Place, for her parts, if you haven’t already been there.

That is going to do it, then, for this first post on this blog!  If you came over from the old blog, I sure do appreciate it!  I will have things up and running more smoothly as soon as I can!  Thank you for your patience and your patronage!  You mean a lot to me!

Until next time…

SMILE!

My New Blog – Moving

I wasn’t foolin around when I said I was leaving Blogger!  LOL  There are numerous reasons for my leaving, but, yesterday, when I lost an entire post I had worked all morning on, it was the last straw.  All of the content and downloads here will remain until I figure out how to add to WP.  I’m not closing this blog, I’m just not posting here anymore.  You can find my new blog over at:
http://aladyinflorida.wordpress.com
I look forward to seeing you there – the first post will be on Monday, per my schedule with Miss Edna and our collaboration.  I will post another notice here on Monday.
As I am just getting the WP blog set up, please be patient with me.  I will have it all together soon.  Your patience and understanding are so appreciated!
See you at http://aladyinflorida.wordpress.com
